Ballachulish Bridge March 2015
As a rule, I like to plan my photography be it landscape or product. I build my own sets I even sketch creative product work on paper as plans. I spend hours poring over maps checking locations, lighting directions and the weather.
Very rarely do I capture random spontaneous images. Unless that is what is requested. Or they are of my family.
This image, however, broke all the rules. After spending a day on Buachaille Etive Mor in the highlands of Scotland. We returned to our tents (it was March) and freezing, to get sorted and go out for a meal.
We had been out location scouting so was exhausted and needed a good meal. Unfortunately, the Glencoe Inn stopped serving meals at 9 pm so we went for a drive over the Ballachulish Bridge. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to capture this at night. Having dodged many cars due to the long exposure. Then many failed attempts halfway through the exposure I got an image I hoped for.
Although I was getting some unusual looks from the people in the bus shelter opposite me!
